Well, after all the drama in my life lately (I’m about a week behind) and despite having one of those annoying colds, I seem to be on track. I’ve just got back from W8R2 and chose a different route, along the seafront and beach wall. Lucky to live where I do and it was so fab to see other runners on the same route, not so friendly but I enjoyed giving a thumbs up to a rather cool curly haired guy with Beats on. How he managed to run in a thick hoodie I don’t know ..
I can tell that I have got a little behind (even if only a week in total) but I’m still completing my runs. My achy legs could have been due to the cold I have mind you.
I did think of this forum and the lovely people on it, the things I’ve read when I hit a little struggly part, so thank you everybody for being so encouraging. Feel great, went to Sports Direct after and got a long sleeve running top ready for the colder weather.
Beautiful today though!
I did 2.5miles in 28 mins so I’m half a mile off of the 5k and my goal to complete a park run. Is it doable before graduation?
Hope everybody is well. Happy running 🏃

Well done you, I’m a run ahead of you but it’s gunna be 11wks in total b4 I finish. A dreadful flu like attack stunted me for a whole week and a weeks cruise slowed me down (although I did run in the gym in the ship)
Like you I live on coast but have done most running on treadmill, can’t wait to transfer it outdoors but do feel more nervous about outdoor running!
I’m aiming for regular park run along the prom once I graduate-what about you?
Hello there - great to hear your story. Well done on keeping it going despite your set backs. I can understand you feeling slightly nervous about running outside if you’ve been used to a treadmill, but I’m sure you’ll find it a very positive experience. Every run is different and you can enjoy the sites once you hit your stride and it’s great passing other runners. My biggest hurdle was overcoming what people thought of me, I just go into my own world .. it’s for me not them.
Completing a Parkrun is my goal! I actually registered tonight. I will wait until I’ve graduated though I guess. Keep me updated and all the best, nearly there!
Brilliant run, Sadie! I am so proud of you, as I know you have had a difficult time of late. But look how resilient you are, and how committed you are.
Running with a cold definitely feels a little tougher - hope you are feeling much better soon.
Some folk do park runs in their final week, for sure. I am going to graduate first, consolidate a bit, then try one. I want to get in my stride a bit first.
Just one run left of week 8 - well done you! 👏🏃♀️😀😘
Ha ha! Good thoughts, I hope! 😊 It has been lovely seeing you progress, you are doing so well. Cheering you on all the way, Sadie! Not many runs left now...xxx
