My run this evening was my best yet, I am truly amazed. It has taken me forever to get this far, as I've had to slow down to just 2 runs a week since the longer runs started..
I've also had a few runs where I ve not been able to compete the full time. For example, on Monday night I was only able to run 20 mins before giving up (gale force winds and an obstacle course of branches weren't conducive to running!)
So, I ve had a very busy day at work on my feet and set out for my evening run feeling a bit... Meh.
But... But... As the music kicked in and I found my pace, I actually ENJOYED the run,;I wasn't wishing it away and I just...did it.
I love this programme, it has made me feel like I can achieve anything. Just three more runs until graduation and then I will keep going because this is a life changer. Nothing feels as good as that feeling of persevering and doing it, seeing your body change and feeling physically and mentally stronger.
Thank you once again all of you on here. It truly is the most supportive site.
Finally, any of you out there in the earlier stages who are finding it tough, you WILL do it. My advice is don't feel obliged to keep doing 3 runs a week, it has made a huge difference to me cutting down to two. When the pain sets in, turn the music up and keep going ๐ Make Epsom salts your best friend and invest in proper runners socks.
Week 9 here I come ๐ ๐ runner ๐
