Begrudgingly took myself out for a run this evening - this week seems to have been that way - but was determined to keep on track.
Last week I measured my total distance (walks included) for run 1 and 2 and then just the run for the 3rd run of the week. So thought I'd do the same today... Covered 3.73km, which feels a long way off 5k, but actually feeling quite pleased with that and I'm encouraged by the extra distance gained by just 3 more mins.
Now on to week 9 and 3 more runs to hopefully get me into that 4k+ bracket before graduation!

Well done, I have one more run in week 8 and at the moment I cover about 3.5k so a bit slower. I know I won’t be doing 5k at the end but will carry on slowly increasing time until I get there and then think about speeding up.
I've just done W8 Run 3 this morning and am only getting to about 3.4km in that time, I have a long long way to go to reach 5km. But I'll keep plodding along at snails pace and will eventually get close. I do have about 25kg in weight to lose to get to a not obese stage 😂 carrying that around the course doesn't help.
Well done! Almost there aren't we?! I'm trying to shift to lbs too! I do think its helpful to know where you are in terms of distance, but also important to focus on the progress made so far.... in a weeks time we will be graduates running 30mins straight! How awesome is that! I'm planning to focus on consolidating and then looking at next options to progress my time. 5k will come when its ready!!
That is very true. I look back to less than 8 weeks ago and I could barely run 60 seconds. I have actually run for 30 minutes for the last 3 runs just to push myself a bit more. I'm going to work on increasing my pace and start strength training so I can work on the rest of my body 💪🏼😂
I actually lost almost 19kg since February but the weight loss has stalled for the last 5 weeks, but I know that's due to muscle and water and I will get there.
