Hiya, week 1 run 2 is complete and I feel better than I did on my first one! I never know what to do with my routes, I make mind up on the spot and go wherever the wind takes me, is it better to plan a route in advance?

Better = whatever works for you. Personally I'm a planner as I like to feel like I'm running to somewhere and it means I can judge how far into the run I am based on passing familiar bits of my course. As I've progressed through the weeks I've needed to find a bigger loop to run to accommodate the longer runs but it's been a nice challenge to find a route that isn't too steep.
If no plan works for you then go for it.
Nice to get the early runs under your belt - well done.
I prefer doing a loop but not easy getting the distance right at first - I ended up doing an extra 5 minute walk in the early runs.
There are a number of sites that can help you even google maps can do distances. I am using Strava to plan my routes from a PC easier to do than Google Maps.
Whatever you choose.. this is your journey... Well done you !
Whatever works for you. I had a rough route planned out in the early weeks as I wasn't brave enough to go on the main road. Now I head straight to it and keep going until the halfway bell the. I turn and head home.
I often do that. Spontaneity is the spice of life. Who said that? Me? ππβοΈπ
Do whatever is most fun!
