Yo people!

I awoke the day after my first run with my legs set in concrete - or at least thats what they felt like. Glory Be to the Rest Day!!! ANyway this morning at 6.30am I trundled around my route successfully making my concrete legs move as best they could. Amazingly after 5 minutes they felt normal and with Lauras NHS voice and toons keeping me going I arrived home feeling amazing. Even my cat meeowed how proud she was of me! Haha!

Thanks to caz1 for alerting me to the NHS podcasts. They are fabulous and far better than my wasted £1.99 app!

Right, at work now about to sit in my potato chair for the next 10 hours. But at least I;ve done my run........

Oooh very impressive. Well done. I had the concrete legs after all 3 runs in week 1 and wish it had got better 5 mins in:( Having 2 rest days this time and still debating whether to do another run in week 1 just to be sure or try week 2. Am also just sitting down in my potato chair when I would still really like to be asleep!

Ahhh the two day rest thing. That sounds like a good thing to have up one's sleeve. Have a whizz day.

Great work danzangro. Allow the old lactic acid to settle and you'll be right as rain by Friday. Look forward to having you on board the NHS C25K 5x50 challenge team in 2014, delia :-)

Excellent job, glad you found Laura helpful. :-) Do you stretch before and after you runs?

I stretch AFTER as I keep getting and reading advice on stretching cold muscles can be a bad thing to do. Have you heard this? I still have to get this stretching malarky sorted out properly, cos I'm sure I'm pretty crap at it having not ever done it before.

What's your take on cold muscle stretching? oooh er!

I've never heard that to be honest. I sometimes, not always because I just forget to stretch before hand and I also forget to stretch after a lot of the time, but fortunately I don't suffer with sore legs. But when I do do them before I set off I just do a couple lunges on each leg. Grab my foot and pull in towards my butt for each leg a couple times and then I'm ready to go. Have a look at this page if you haven't already. nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/...

OK I have just searched and you are right there is no good reason for stretching before hand, but for sure do warm ups which is done for the first five minutes out anyway. So I won't bother anymore even on the days I do remember (haha).
