W1R2 completed tonight!

I had reletively bad asthma but managed to keep it under control (along with an inhaler always in my hand when i run - just in case). Took some advice i read here about not running too fast and that when jogging it "should be at a pace where you could still hold a conversation" (paraphrasing). W1R1 i was struggling to keep a breath never mind talk so i slowed it down a bit tonight and feel 100 times better - asthma didnt flare up at all. So whoever you were that wrote that advice --- THANK YOU!

Roll on W1R3 on Friday after work :D

Stats:

W1R1 - 1.75mile

W1R2 - 1.76mile

Although i slowed down i covered slightly more distance because i managed to keep going in the running stage for the full time. :)

Yeah i had a great wee run. Recently moved to a new area so was a good way to have a look about the neighborhood.

Brilliant!

Well done you! I am same stage without asthma and the slow down meant I could regulate my breathing so I didn’t sound like I was fighting for breath.

Advice is so good on here xxx

Well done.

Whatever you do, dont worry at all about distance. At this stage, its irrelevant at best and can be motivational at worst.

Despite the name of the program, the main aim is to build you up to be able to run for 30 minutes, 3 x a week.

Once you graduate, if distance is important, that's the time to make that your next goal.

So keep going slow and enjoy your running :-)
