I've been lurking and reading for a while and its been really helpful at the low points to see others have overcome the same obstacles so thank you.
My question is this, how do people deal with the cold?. I'm quite slight, and feel the cold terribly, it feels like it gets to my bones and I can't warm up, hate it. I'm starting to find my motivation to run lacking as its getting colder, I recently graduated and am currently still running for 30 mins every other day but am getting cold and then have this unpleasant cold and sweaty feeling during running.
Anyone else like me struggle with temperature.
Many thanks
Michelle

Hi Michelle....I purchased a cycling jacket from Aldi and find they do the business and keep you nice and warm. Plus do a few warm up exercises before you start and that helps.
Layers. I use compression vest a new leggings in the coldest weather.
Some people like wind/rainproof jackets, but personally I find these uncomfortable as I glow profusely when running.
If you dress for the temperature that hits you as you walk out of the door, then you are probably going to be too hot once you start moving. Doing a good indoor warmup routine may help, especially if really cold.
My daughter is similar, she invested in a long sleeve base layer, then adds a running jacket that can come off/back on afterwards. She adds a further layer as it gets colder.
Personally i run hot, so one layer usually suffices. In winter i use the thicker running leggings.
You get acclimatised very quickly! Warm up inside the house by doing some warm up exercises and get yourself heated up before heading out for the warm up walk, which can be longer than five minutes.
If your ears are covered you will feel ok. 🙂 I wear a lightweight cheapo hooded run jacket which I take off when I get warm. It easily ties round my middle and I pop it back on for the walk home. You can buy a run cap cheaply too. I only wear mine when it's properly raining 🙂 I can wear a Buff round my ears but still fit the cap over it 👍
I did the programme in October and ran through the winter but I was amazed how quickly I got used to it, and the fleece running top I bought from Aldi has never been used since
Leggings wise, you can get winter ones which are thicker.
