How to cope with the cold?!

Sounds like a daft question but how does everyone cope with breathing in the cold air at the moment? I'm not great at breathing through my nose and find I'm really struggling on some of my runs to get into a rhythm with my breathing as its so cold! Someone suggested simply putting a scarf around my mouth :)

Buffs are great. I bought one in the Aldi sale but doubt if I could have thoiled the price of a genuine branded buff.

Just wear a light weight scarf over your mouth - it will help you.

You can get cheap alternatives to Buffs on ebay - £2-£3. They are brilliant things - easier to wear than a scarf when you're running.

My trick was to take several deep breaths during the warm-up walk to get my lungs used to the cold!

I can't breathe through my nose and I can't bear to have anything around my mouth so buffs are out for me.

Thanks everyone - buff bought on Amazon (thanks for the tip!) for £3. Quite sad as I can't wait to get it and try it out :)

check out lungplus.fi more functional than jist a buff. The gears you need depends of course how cold it is. I'm using Lungplus from about -3C to -30C. If it is colder I must admit I'm staying inside. Lungplus actually helps keeping fingers and toes warmer since the warmer breathing air lets more warm blood to circulate to your hands and feet.
