In general, don't. You'll feel awful, it'll probably delay recovering from the cold and you won't get much benefit out of the run. If you're ill you need rest. Get better, then run.
I would say don't go, I came down with a cold last week decided to go for a run and it was awful. It was hard work breathing, the run was hard, then my chest hurt from running, I felt bad not completing it. I would rest especially if you are going on a 10mile walk.
Please stay at home, have a couple of paracetamol and lots of fluids. I spent 2weeks on the injury couch on antibiotics after running with a cough. Ended up pushing the infection further down into my lungs. It wasn't very nice!! Take good care of yourself
I agree with above posts. If you just had a head cold then I would say go ahead, but anything below the neck is bad news. I ran with a cough recently and it got worse and worse (although it was fine when I was actually running) until I coughed so much that I tore a muscle which then put me out of action for a total of 10 days. It's still sore now, but manageable.
