Week 7 Run 2: Thought after treadmill yesterday... - Couch to 5K
Week 7 Run 2
But at least you completed it and well done for that! It may well have been that your body was telling you it needed a rest after running the day before or it may well have been that you were running faster when running outside as it isn't as easy to regulate your speed. Running outside is often found to be harder than a treadmill, and yes, hills are hard, no matter how small they are - they definitely get easier with practise.
You're doing really well. Have a bit of a rest and keep going!
Well done for trying something different ...that takes confidence ! Maybe a different route could help or not running on consecutive days? Put it down to learning curve and shake it off. I had to learn to shake off the good runs as well as the not-so -good (or bad!), so I didnβt set myself up for next time ...just took each run as a fresh new one π. Keep going! Itβs worth it .
Mike don't be downhearted... number 1 you ran yesterday and also today, and you should always take a rest day, no matter how well you felt, so possibly fatigue played a part.
Secondly, there is an adjustment to make from treadmill to tarmac, it doesn't always come easy.
Thirdly you threw in the curved ball of adding hills...
So you probably had a bad combination of circumstances leading to not such a great run.
You are also getting further into the programme and looking back I think I could have done with a couple of extra rest days every now and then.
Give yourself a rest, a pat on the back for having a bash, regroup and run again in a couple of days....
Thanks Jan needed that π
Don't let a tough one put you off!
Well done in completing it!
I'm just on the 25mins have done 3 now it's tough but we're doing it!
Well done ππ»π
Good shout Lisa we are doing it π
