I posted online earlier asking if I should go for it at my age 49 and fat, and the responce was swift and concise, go for it.
So I put my trainers on and went for it... first 2 60 second runs were hell. I went too quick too fast. For the next 2 60 second runs took it a bit steadier, a light jog, but still pushed myself and felt OK.
Half way point I thought I was going to die, but carried on and completed the plan exactly.
And I feel bloody fantastic!!!!!
And I now hate Sarah Millican!!!

Well done you! Absolutely fantastic! Good luck with programme. Stick with it - the sense of achievement is brilliant and you will soon start to feel fitter and stronger. So pleased for you. π
So happy I did it. I've put it off for over a year, always planning to do it tomorrow, next week, i'll start at the beginning of next month, new years resolution etc.
But just did it... Blocked out the negative thoughts and did it! haha
What's wrong with slow? From where I sit providing you finish the run you are doing then who cares on the speed you do it?
I nearly re-did week 3 as I was struggling to maintain the pace I wanted but OldFloss on here gave me the best piece of advice possible, slow and steady, I can build on pace and distance when I can actually run. In the last 3 days I have done 2 25 minute runs, from where I was 7 weeks ago when I was gasping my way through 60 SECONDS of running I'm more than happy with my progress, I'm not fast but I still get to the end of the runs.
Well done starting the program, I don't think you'll regret it and I think you may find it is 'for you'.
Don't forget to post up your progress, you will find the people on here are excellent at motivating you and they give some great advice too.
Well done!! I did my first run on Saturday and am going for my second later tonight. If it's any help, I'm doing more of a slow jog too but instead of focusing on my speed, I focus on completing the session. Doesn't matter how fast you go, as long as you do it.
It's jo whiley I've chosen to keep me going and I look forward to hearing her voice cos it means I'm at the end of the running section π
Well done! Age is just a number, this plan shows no discrimination for age, fitness levels, weight, man, woman. It has worked for so many before us and will work for so many after. Amazing on getting that first one out of the way. Good luck for run 2, enjoy your rest day
Brilliant! Very well done for getting out there and beating those pesky gremlins (often mentioned in posts!). The aforementioned Oldfloss is the slow and steady guru π best of luck with your future runs, stick at it.
You heard the replies and you know how amazing you are!!
You keep it slow and you keep it steady.. relax and breathe and just find the pace that is suiting you..no need to push... just take it in your own time!!!
Very, very well done you! Cannot wait for your next post!
Well done on your first run ππ»I have picked sarah Millican too. Today I did my first run on wk 2 today. In the cool down after she called me 'flower' I actually found myself thinking 'aww thanks Sarah'. I like her again now.
So funny. I love having Sarah Millican in my ear. She's like a kind fairy encouraging me. I love the bit where she suddenly announces "you're doin greeet" Well done on your efforts!
