Coughing and spluttering...

...through my week 7. Another blinking chest infection. It has been a bad year for me with this problem. Had pneumonia twice. Not the kind you end up in hospital but pneumonia nevertheless. So in July I decided that I had become less healthy with being overweight and less active and decided to start running(at 64...). And I am totally amazed I can now do the 25 minutes quite well ( even slightly uphill but I absolutely hate that, but where I live there is NOWHERE flat for 25 minutes!). So I was very disappointed when I started coughing again and the doc found my oxygen not great. I had a vision of being tons healthier and having nice clean oxygen flying all over the place in my body. 😑. Anyway, I am on steroids now as doc thinks this time it might be something of allergic nature, so should be running faster! Ahahah(hollow laughing...). In two weeks I am running with a pal of mine the local 5k in Inverness, and coughing and spluttering or not, I am determined to do it, even if I arrive last at the end! Can you believe it....I will have a NUMBER on my chest! I repeat.... A NUMBER! and only two months ago I could hardly run two minutes! Love to all

A huge well done to you! That's brilliant and shows your persistence. I assume your doctor knows about your running?

Good luck for the race and be proud of that bib number πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ

Yes told doc and was fully expecting a large medal, but it seemed to leave him entirely unmoved......

Your exercise and efforts to get healthy will.pay off but you have to keep going. No need for speed though. Chugging away slow but sure is fine. Those uphill slopes will pay off, as your puff increases no end when you can run on hills. Running uphill also shreds weight from your mid section, I can attest πŸ˜ƒYour arms, neck and shoulders will get noticeable more toned too, and stronger

Next time you run uphill put your hand on your middle and notice how engaged your muscles are πŸ™‚βœ”οΈ

You have to wonder about doctors πŸ™„ I keep as far away from mine as humanly possible as he doesn't approve of running. He'd rather flog statins

Your race will be fun! Races are a hoot I think πŸ˜ƒ Everyone moving forward together. Force for good I reckon πŸ’ͺπŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™€οΈβœ”οΈ
