So disappointed that I couldn't start week 7 this morning. I have had a very bad chest cold since Friday and I don't think Fridays run helped! Sleepless nights and lots of coughing meant I just wasn't up to it....my darling hubby warned me not to go as it would set me back but it is so gutting to miss a start to a new week and closer to your goal. I am under time pressure to finish as my first target is a parkrun in my hometown in Ireland on 7th June and then my R4L on 15th June so I don't have much room for setbacks. Hope all the week 7 starters had a good run today! Very jealous.....

taking the time to rest is important. I am sad that I wasn't able to start week 8 today. But we will get there :)

Just take a while to get better - hubby is a wise man. You'll manage both your park run and R4L no problem. Hope you feel better soon.

If you are unwell it's far better to err on the side of caution and rest. If you went out and made yourself worse it could risk everything you have worked for so far. You still have time to finish the programme before your events and, even if you don't finish in time, you will still be able to take part in, and complete, those events. Be kind to yourself and you'll be back out there before you know it. Good luck and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Thanks everyone, feeling bit better this evening even after a busy day so hopeful that I might get out Wednesday morning. Hope you get to start week 8 spoonie. Early night for me. Sweet running dreams !

Sorry to hear that, Nelly; I hope you feel so much better soon. :-) You definitely did the right thing; much better to rest rather than take a risk and do yourself a mischief or have a shocker of a run and feel disheartened - or both. Illness is a very valid reason to miss a run; the rest will do you good and you'll be starting week seven feeling stronger and ready to tackle it. Get well soon! :-)
