Week 2 Frustrations

So after being torn on whether to give up or not after completing week one, last week I decided to continue and got back to running around the lake. Run 1 went well, my last run synched up to my music perfectly, and I was actually going pretty fast (I know that won't last as the weeks go by, but I'm fit enough to do it for 90 secs without too much of a struggle), the run finished right by my car and I was feeling pretty chuffed. I wandered over to have a look at the ducks for my warm down walk.

Run 2 was pretty much the same, a dog tried to do me in by leaping into my path as I was running, but other that that it went well.

Then came Friday. Ahhh, Friday. From the moment I left work everything went wrong. It was a lovely day, I was psyched up to get my run done and finish week 2, but then my car started playing up - the key fob will no longer lock or unlock the door. Put in a new battery, tried my second key, tried synching it according to online instructions... no joy. The stupid design of the car means that the only door you can manually un/lock is the driver's side, the passenger side and boot stay open! (If anyone has any advice what to do with a Citroen C2 key that won't activate the central locking I'm all ears). Before I realised I couldn't lock the passenger side door, I drove down to the lake to find it was packed, the car park was rammed, but due to having a fairly small car I managed to get into a tiny not-really-a-space on the end. Got out my headphones, and discovered they had apparently died. They're fully charged, worked fine the day before, but now they are totally dead. I only bought them a few weeks ago! I knew there was no way I could do the run without headphones, not able to hear my music or the app, so I ended up going home, where yet more things went wrong. What I would like to do is finish week 2 and get cracking on week 3 this week. Being unable to lock my car makes that highly unlikely. >:(

Oh no...that's just pants...& you really sound like you want to get cracking...can't you run from home? Do you have to go somewhere in the car??? I hope you find a solution because you will enjoy this journey so much...it's amazing...try not to let anything get in your way...keep posting to let us know

I normally go somewhere on the way home from work, it's the only way I can get somewhere before it starts getting dark and a bit iffy. :S I think I'll try to find an auto-electricians tomorrow and see if they can do anything, though from what I've read it could be expensive.

What about early mornings?? And I mean early...there's nothing like a beautiful sunrise to start your day

I'm really not a morning person, it takes me hours to come around properly even after I've gotten into the office. I think I'll have to put my running on a hiatus until I can get to the garage, and then figure out what to do from there. Fingers crossed they can get it done fast (and cheap)!

Oh what a run of rotten luck! Keep going though you're a week ahead of me and I'm finding it hard. I've an old railway track 5 mins from me so it's a perfect track to run on. Do hope you get your car sorted soon. Big hugs 🤗

That sounds so frustrating and I know what you mean about not being able to run without your headphones. I once forgot mine for a run I had driven to and in the end just had my phone blaring out as loud as I could make it. I do hope you manage to get your car key sorted out. There are many of us who have had technology conspire against us, but you seemed to have all the techie gremlins in one go. I do hope your next run is more successful. :-)
