Week 2 Run 2 Stretches

Just did week 2, run 2. Was not pretty, and my headphones keep cutting out (can anyone recommend some inexpensive headphones good for running, iPhone 7 capatable?) but I did it! Well chuffed. However, noticed since got home that my back is really aching. Conscious I’m probably not stretching properly before and after and wondering if anyone can recommend what stretches I should be doing before and after? Thank you!

I use these argos.co.uk/product/8144171 and they never fall out... sound quality is good enough too.

Stretches after should be static ones... nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... but these are NOT suitable for before your run.

Stretches before running should be dynamic as per runnersworld.com/health-inj.... It’s debatable as to whether these give any benefits, but they do no harm.

The above links are from the guide to this plan, which will answer many of your questions healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Running will expose any areas of weakness in your body... so come on over to the strength and flex forum healthunlocked.com/strength... for the all round recommended strengthening plan to accompany C25K as well as many specific exercises and routines to work on body parts/areas.

Great job on the run.

Well done. I'll be doing my w2 r2 on Monday. I found today's run bit easier then last week, took my 9 year old son also. I used to have the ear phones that came with my Huawei but now use my sons headphones which stay on better so no messing around and can concentrate on running.

Maybe you've not warmed up enough that's why back sore or could just be posture whilst running?. Hope you feeling better soon x

I use them with Android but these earphones are really comfy: Jabra elite 65e, usually very expensive but you can get refurbished ones now. emea.jabra.com/deals I use the hear-through option when jogging outside (download the Jabra app).

Thanks for that! I have some Bose wireless headphones, over the ear, like that, but wondered if would work for running or if needed something lighter and in-ear.

These ones are in-ear and work well, but then I never had over the ear ones :)

Ah, thanks. The link initially took me to some over the ear ones. Great. Off to do some research now. Thank you for all the advice!
