Just managed to run for 8 minutes in one go, twice ! I have never done that before. Very proud, but felt so much harder than any of my past runs and don't know how to mentally prepare myself to push further ! Does anyone have any words of wisdom?
Week 5 Run 2: Just managed to run for 8 minutes... - Couch to 5K
Week 5 Run 2
Yes, don't push.
Slow and steady... and do your best, of course, but, go with the runs... let your legs, which are getting stronger each week carry you through. Start slow, relax into the runs..breathe normally and enjoy how far you have come. Land lightly, kissing the ground with your feet...look around... take it gently.
The programme will take you through...begin to enjoy the journey...
For starters, remember how well you've done to get to W5, that's brilliant!
Then just put on your running shoes and get on with it, don't think about it. Set off as you've done for every run so far and keep going until you're told to stop, simples!
As Oldfloss says 'slow and steady', and slow down some more if you need to. It doesn't matter how far you run just keep moving.
You can do this so GO FOR IT!
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
Just relax, relax and then relax - you have been building up and are prepared for this! Just take it slowly and breathe and enjoy the experience.

Go for it, they and we are behind you all the way.
Mentally, you've done the hardest bit in the programme IMO and that was starting this in the first place and doing that very first run. That takes courage and you've ticked that box.
The programme has prepared you for every run and you are ready. Just remember how strong you are and how epic you'll feel when you run that graduation run. Of course you'll do this. Just tell your head to get a grip and let your body do its thing πππ
