Week 5 Run 2

Set out this morning at my favourite running time of 5.30 a.m. trying not to think about the fact that I had 2 x 8 minute runs ahead of me! Pink Floyd through my headphones and Michael telling me I could do it! Started to run and made the effort to really slow down, but I found myself speeding up very slightly and settled into a natural rhythm. Still pretty slow, but not so much effort, so I stuck with it. Second run the same, stats showed about 10.5 minutes a kilometre, each run just about .75K. I just timed the runs this time and both were very similar, suggesting I’ve found my groove. I know it’s slow, but I can speed up later in the program. I still had a little left at the end and that’s how I like to feel, so it went really well and I was very proud of myself! Never in any danger of stopping. Certainly strutted rather than walked on the warm down walk 😀. Michael was so pleased with my progress!

Now to talk myself into feeling positive about R3 on Wednesday. I trust the program and I have completed every run without stopping. I’m ready for it! Aren’t I? 😀🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Well done W5 buddy !!! ... be proud of where you’ve come from to doing 2x8 min runs ... am liking you’ve found a steady rhythm ... something I need to do ... each time, despite Michael telling me “now doing go to fast” I seem to hear white noise and ignore it !! ... I will learn and better do for Wednesday!

And are you ready for it? .... of course you are !! You’ve got R3 nailed ... just keep that steady pace and get into your groove !

Pink Floyd eh ... nice !!

Thanks, buddy! I like the steady rhythm, it has appeared all by itself; it certainly wasn’t there at the start.

YES YOU ARE!!! The programme thinks so and I do too. Don’t overthink this run just go out there and do it. You’ll feel amazing once you do. Good luck 💪🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Wow, you are doing great !

This is just what I need to hear before I go out for my first week 5 run !

Oh, and by the way .

You cannot fail if you are listening to pink Floyd !!!

Excellent choice of music .

My all time favourite band who I have had the pleasure of seeing 5 times over the years 😬

Sounds like you have really found your groove !

I'm going out around 10 or 10:30 ish.

Raring to go now after reading your post ! 😬👍🏃

Thanks - and good luck later. It will be warmer 😀. Yes, the run was uneventful and straightforward - not a huge effort, but very enjoyable. Never got to see Pink Floyd, sadly, so I envy you. Saw a great tribute band in Sydney, they mainly covered The Wall. Listening to music certainly helps my running! Carefully choosing what I want to hear is part of my ritual before going out.

Have a good run!

No need to speed up...let your legs find their own happy pace... and go with it:)

Slow and steady is just fine and you will be amazed where that will get you to :)

Well done !

Thank you. Today they definitely found their happy pace, and it was good not having to think about it.

Thanks! I’m already planning the music for R3. It’s got to be good. It has to be Pink Floyd. Now let me see.......... 😀

Maybe Pink Floyd's 'Run like hell' ?

Or on second thoughts , perhaps not !

Haha

Well, actually that has got quite a good rhythm for running, but I’ve listened to it before and it does kind of make me want to speed up. Might just listen to the whole album, though and just take care when that one comes on 😂
