I've just completed my first run using the C25K app, following my own (less successful) first attempt a couple of days ago. And it went well...found being talked through it so helpful and it seemed much less daunting. No back pain this time either! But there was no music, just dead air between instructions. Is that right? And if so, how do I get it to play my own music? I can't see anything within settings. I'm on an android phone (Samsung). I don't currently have any music on my phone and I assume I'd have to download some (I.e. not stream).
W1R1 "proper"...no music in the app? - Couch to 5K
W1R1 "proper"...no music in the app?
Hello! I have an iphone so haven't t had this problem. Try this previous post though as it might help
I have an iPhone and start the app then go back to home page and open up my music, select the album I want and push play. The c25k app keeps going and lowers the volume of the music just before any instructions are given and increases it after. Today was whitesnake, live in the heart of the city, most enjoyable. Hope this helps.
I used the NHS podcasts downloaded on to my phone rather than the app. The podcasts play music between instructions. The music is not great but better than nothing.
Hi HJ. I have a Samsung too and downloaded the NHS Couch to 5k app via the Play Store. If you search "One You" then you will find the right app. However, it is not supported on older Samsung phones so if you can't see it, then you won't be able to download it. To get started, just play your music as normal through your music library. Then open the Couch to 5k app and press the run you want to do. The trainer you choose will speak over the music when it's time. I hope this helps but if it doesn't, let me know and I'll see if there's anything else to try
Yes you can play your own music - I use an iPhone so I start the music (create a running playlist) then start the app - the app cuts in over the music. Happy running & you definitely need the music 😀🏃🏻🐵
I have the c25k app on a Samsung as well. I use Spotify on my phone for music. This is free to download, and then it's up to you if you use the free or the premium version (I personally have the premium as spotify has pretty much all the music I would ever need) but yes, otherwise you will just need to download some music on to your phone. 😄
Cool. Good to know I can have the two going simultaneousl.
All you have to do is run your normal music app - mine is Spotify - and then start the c25k app. When the trainer speaks the music volume is cut down so you can hear the voice of the instructor. The app deliberately has no music so you can choose your own.
I've not read all the replies on the thread so apologies if this has already been explained.
Have a great time doing c25k!
