Just done week 3 run 2 and my first outdoors rather than treadmill session. I had no sound from the C5K app, although the sound level of my music was reduced at the points when the trainer should be talking - can anyone suggest what might have gone wrong and how to fix it? It's all worked perfectly until now.
No trainer's voice in the app?: Just done week... - Couch to 5K
No trainer's voice in the app?
Perhaps a small fault in the app, if it happens again, you could uninstall it and then reinstall it.
I wondered about that, but am worried that I would lose the history of everything done to date which I'm supposed to show my physio at my next appointment in a couple of weeks.
Ouch, I think you would lose all your history if you did the above, if you still have the runs on it, don't uninstall it, I think you could install another app although if you tried that in the app store the message would come up
"Already installed"
I'm a little puzzled as to why you need to show that to your physio, but I suggest you take screenshots of your completed runs to date and in future - these will be date stamped so could serve as some proof of your run if that's what's required.
A better app for proof of the run would be a GPS running app such as Strava, with which you could record your run at the same time as you use the C25K app.
If the problem with the C25K app persists you would be best off following AlMorr 's advice to uninstall/reinstall. You will lose your runs if you do this, but you can easily "fast-forward" through them to get you back to where you were in the plan 😊😊😊
My physio wants to see progress on recovery after knee surgery. Not that that is in relevant to the issue I've experienced with the app. They recommended using this app for that purpose in the first place.
I guess I will use something else - all activity is recorded on my fitbit, but that involves sorting through other records to find the runs. I thought that reporting the problem would be relevant and useful to the developer. Wasn't expecting to be challenged about my physio's approach to ongoing care.
It's just unusual is all. It's a valid comment as the c25k app cannot record any useful data such as time lapse, speed, cadence, hr or any such other data which gives a greater picture of your progress/fitness.
Did you have any other apps running at the same time? The only issues I ever had with the c25k app was actually down to other apps running in the background. I started going into settings and stopping everything, then starting just c25k, then my music and it solved any issues. That was running on Android however so it depends on what platform you're running it on too. 👍🏻
I am on android (version 10, whatever that means) as a test I just uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and all my old runs were still there. I'm pretty sure that I did a few uninstall, reinstalls when I was completing the programme due to one tech fail or another.
If you don't want to risk it couldn't you tell the physio where you are up to?
Interesting! Thanks, I'll have a look at this 😊😊😊
Well if I lost the completed runs it wasn't going to be a problem 😊
Just tried uninstall/reinstall and I lost the runs. But you're right, it's not a problem - unless you forgot where you were! 😊
