I need help please to find some suitable music I can run along to. I don't have a fancy phone or an ipod. I have an android phone and at the moment I'm running along to a right old mixture of 60's and 70's music some of which is absolutely dire for example, Paper Roses by Marie Osmond! It make me slow down and want to give up but I have no choice as my phone will only let me download albums to save to my device which I then play on shuffle mode. Maybe this old bird will just have to bite the bullet and invest in some modern technology !

Music on the move
There are compilation albums designed for running (I have a 'Now' running album). Not music I would normally listen to but does the job!
I've only got an android phone, but like edqa, have downloaded Now That's What I Call Running to run to - not completely my style but pretty good for bpm and keeping you going at a half decent speed.
Other people on here have downloaded spoken word podcasts - might be worth a try if, say, there's a particular radio programme you like?
Get yourself a little ipod shuffle for music - about £40.You can easily download from itunes then. I like the Now Running album too, also Runner's World playlist no. 1 is a compilation with decent songs.
Ohhhhh I have a guilty secret. I love running and exercising to jive bunny. I got the mp3 from amazon then put them on my android phone.
I bought the NOW that's what I call Running, 2 CD's and although I wouldn't normally listen to that type of music its not bad for running to. Some Scissor Sisters is also quite good.
Thanks a lot Edqa, Honor'smum,Scotsheather, Realfoodieclub, Runningnot walking and Oldgirl. All of your suggestions have been really helpful and I have now downloaded now thats what I call running. Fingers crossed it will make my run tomorrow a bit easier (week 9 Run 2). I think I will invest in a ipod shuffle though as I can see this running becoming a big part of my life!
Android phones are fancy, they can generally do everything an iPod can, as others have said re music, plus you can get quite a bit of music free as podcasts, I particularly like running to house music, but there are podcasts of all genres
