Well it's taken about 5 runs past graduation but I have finally managed 5k.
I have really struggled running since graduating it's like I was expecting it to suddenly become really easy and that really wasn't the case so tonight I thought I just won't to run at a pace I can cope with and just enjoy being out with out pressuring my self into a 30 min p.b.
I know I could have pushed myself more but actually to have reached 30 minutes and still felt strong was an amazing feeling and I had made my mind up at around 25 minutes I was going to aim for 5k.
I know the saying slow and steady is used so often but we all won't to running at a respectable pace, but actually I have learned tonight that it's more important for me to be running at an enjoyable pace and hopefully speed will naturally follow.
Genuinely felt amazing tonight😄

This is EXACTLY what happened to me. I was running 30 minutes and then 33 and then one day I just felt I could carry on and got to 5k in about 40 minutes. Still struggling to get faster but today, the same thing happened and I ran for 6k. So we must be getting stronger but maybe just not noticing I suppose it's not as dramatic as in the first few weeks of the programme.
