I suddenly realised tonight that i've never actually run the 5k i started this program to do, so went out and did it (just under 33 minutes in the end).
The weird thing is, I wan't actually that bothered beyond a "that's nice". The 30 minutes running without stopping seems like a bigger deal. Amazing how the priorities can change when you realise that you're just doing it because it's enjoyable rather than for any particular speed or distance challenge.
I do still quite fancy being able to run 10k at some point having said that 😂.

I try to do a full 5k once a week (or once in every three runs). I'm slower than you but happy with the 30 mins most of the time but I know need to push myself a little bit through the worst of the winter.
That's the fastest i've gone i think. I usually run with the other half, she's better at maintaining a pace than me - she wasn't available tonight though.
As long as you're enjoying it, i think that's the main thing! I'm thinking of doing the 10k plan on here in the new year, and it's got intervals for the short run, which might help with speed.
Yes, I will build up to 8k once a week and 2x5k ( its what I enjoyed last time I did this), then the odd much longer run, but just want to get to the longer ( nicer?) days maintaining/ consolidating. I tried training for a half marathon previously but it kind of took the pleasure out of it for me.
