5K conquered!!

So after a few weeks consolidating at 30 minutes I woke up Monday morning feeling very up for my run. Decided to see how I felt and see if I could push just a little extra and go for a 5K run - so that’s what I did!

I felt really good on this run and my legs and breathing all seemed to be in tune. In my head I wanted to take it just a little slower to hit the 5K mark but I actively avoided looking at the clock and just ran.

Was amazed when I hit the 5K mark and saw I had done it in 32 minutes and 17 seconds!! Couldn’t believe it as I didn’t feel as out of puff as my run before and had matched the pace, genuinely felt I could of pushed on a bit further!

Off out for another run this morning, will either do 30 minutes or 5K again depending on how I feel - i’m very good at knowing within the first 10 minutes on how the run is going to go 😂

Time: 32:17, Distance: 5.01km, Pace: 6’27”

Well done and congratulations on your 5k.

If you find that you often are going to struggle, then perhaps your preparation is not adequate. Everything going on in our lives can impact on our performance as a runner. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised to enable enjoyable running.

This post expands on the theme. healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Every run can be a good run.

Thank you! You are so right so many things can impact how my run goes, I always know if I haven’t drank enough water or am generally just a bit burnt out because it really does affects my runs! Thanks for the link will check out the post!
