Just completed 20 minutes without stopping! Downloaded some music for this one as I thought 20 minutes of listening to my laboured breathing might be demoralising- the music made the 20 mins pass really quickly- now worried that I'm not running fast enough!

Well done Georgina!

It's a great feeling isn't it?

Just keep plodding away and finish the program. I'm told that speed isn't important at this stage. It will come later.

Good luck with the next run. It bit me as I was a bit cocky 😁

Well done for completing the round. The only factor you need to worry about at this point is the time spent running and not the speed you are doing. I remember, at a similar time in the programme, being able to hear my breathing above the music and wondering if I would ever be able to breathe properly while running but it has, somehow, sorted itself out. Onto week 6 you go.

Terrific run, well done.

Speed doesnt matter, just run the time required and then have a pat on the back! As long as you ARE breathing dont worry about it, it will sort itself out. If you are breathing very heavily you probably need to slow down. You are doing great!

Well done and definitely stamina over speed any day ... speed will come but maintaining the time and distance is the key. Onwards and upwards :-)

I agree with the rest. At the end of my 20 mins I lay on the pavement. You did it and at this stage it's about completing it. Timeand distance covered will matter but not yet. Well done.

You are doing great! I finished the program a few weeks ago and I thought it was unbelievable. I never thought I would be able to run 30 minutes straight but here I am still doing it! Don't worry about your speed. Just focus on doing it properly. Speed and distance will come in it's own time. I have asthma, allergies and I'm an ex-smoker and it's been very rewarding so keep at it!! I remember when I did week 5 and my mind was blown!

Yaaaaay well done you! Don't worry about speed. Be proud that you have completed the dreaded wk5r3. I'm doing the same run tomorrow and will be thrilled if I get through it 😊

Just forget speed! The programmes is all about a slow and steady, structured build up of strength and stamina :) There are so many posts at the mo' about not being fast enough etc... it does not matter .

What matters is exactly what you are doing...a steady continuous run... 20 minutes this time..and with a bit of humour thrown in. Well done you!

So...a huge pat on the back and head out to the next run with real confidence that, no, you are not too slow, and yes, you are doing wonderfully!

Don't bother about your speed - you have just run non stop for 20 minutes - brilliant. A wee word of warning - and if you search for W6D1 on this forum you will find plenty of warnings about W6D1 - there are breaks in it and they get everybody - I found that it got me but because I was warned I was at least expecting it - beware but you can and will do it - you are doing brilliant already - go for it.

Woo hoo week 5 In. The. Bag.😊

You did it and live to tell the tale! I think week 5 run 3 was one of my proudest moments - it is such an amazing achievement, a real turning point in the programme. Really well done! You've really got this now. Slow and steady, you'll be on that podium before you know it😊
