Week 5, R3 Gutted!

I managed the 20 min run, but had a 1 minute break after the first 10 mins. Was really struggling, so had to stop. I don't know whether to repeat the run or just move on to W6?

What would make you feel better/more confident to get your head in the right place? PS I understand where you are coming from, due to do that run on Friday and rather apprehensive.....

I have just attempted that run for the third time and am still treating it as a practice. I walked for the middle four minutes because a song I didn't like came on my playlist. But i have decide that I know i can do it next time!

Depends if you feel like you stopped and therefore you've not completed it so have to do it again until you get it right or you stopped but you could have done it and that's ok with you... if it's the latter, don't let this hold you up!!

I have literally just come back and found that I had too many excuses today for not completing it (a song I didn't like on my playlist, tried a new route and didn't like it, ran on grass for first time and didn't like it, then it started to rain) BUT I have just sat down and removed some of them by creating a new playlist, I'll go back to my previous route and ignore the rain if it happens again...

I am going to do it again on Thursday and I will get it right this time... Best of luck with whatever you decide, you know it's in you! Xxx

No, you did great. Move on with head held high.

Week 6 goes back to a more gradual build up so I would say move on - with your head held high !

I'm due to do that run on Saturday! Petrified doesn't come close! To go from 8 mins to 20 doesn't make sense to me....

You're not. You're going from 16 minutes of running to 20. Just without the walk.

Yes I know, I meant constant without the walk

I realise , yes, but the point is, and how the programme works, is that you didn't run 8 minutes. You ran 8, walked 5 then ran 8 more. People make the msitake of discounting the walk sections as being 'rest periods' or 'not counting' - that's not the science. You were still moving in that time and then added 8 more minutes on. Really the change from that t 20 mins is really not like going from 8 to 20.

Not what you're looking for?
