Yes the 20 mins run is on the horizon and I’m dreading it. I had a rubbish run 2 today and really don’t believe I can do this. Has anyone any tips on how to prepare and what to do if I fail ?

You can't fail unless you give up and head back to the sofa.

If you don't complete a run, you have at least one rest day then repeat it, as explained in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

If you think you won't be able to do something, you are more than half way to not being able to do it. Believe in yourself. Believe in the plan that has got you this far. Try reading this healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Go slowly and think positive.

Belief that you can.

Go on give it a try and if you don’t complete it all nothing lost and plenty gained.

I did it last week, never thinking I would.

Go slow. And then slower. Try not to look at your watch. Find some tunes you love. Give yourself some interim targets (a house, a gate, a car, whatever). Believe in the programme. But believe in yourself. Dig in. You're well prepared. You CAN do this. Trust me I'm a doctor!!!!

Ah - you'll be fine - honestly. I felt the same & I managed it. I was on such a high afterwards it was unreal - took me a couple of days to come down. Try not to overthink it - take it slow & steady. Everything you have done up to now on this programme has prepared you for this. You'll smash it. You got this. Good luck & let us know how you get on.

Yeah most people dread it. Then they smash it and feel great all day long! Just take it easy. Choose something distracting to listen to to take your mind off the clock. Get a nice slow pace and just keep going. And make sure you’re well hydrated. It stops your legs tiring too quickly. Finally, believe you can do it (because you can).

Well update is I managed it! Hurrah! can’t say it was easy and the first 10 mins felt like hell but the last 10 mins felt much better ... I changed from having music playing to listening to a podcast which I think helped as I didn’t know how long was left . So onwards I go to week 6 . Thanks for all the encouragement it helped x
