Hi everyone ! Hope everyone is ok and running happily. Anyway I have downloaded this
next stage pod cast and listened to it briefly. However this morning went running, ran for a full 30 minutes without stopping whilst listening to my own music. I then walked for about 10 minutes (a little distance from home) then I ran the rest of the way home ,so I ran for 35 minutes altogether, albeit with a little break after 30 mins.
Should I carry on with my own music or try this new podcast ,it sound just like a noise !
You choose ! if you want to just run.. then just run.. with or without music..
The C25K+ podcasts are all different.. they are structured just like C25K... they focus on different disciplines.. pace, speed and stamina. Many of us have tried them and still use them.. the ones we like. On their own or within other runs. e,g, I use Speed when I want a speedy 3K.. short and sweet...or if I am short on time Stamina is for a longer run and aims to increase distance also.. it has a faster pace....I do it on its own or as part of a much longer run, say 10K...
This is your journey now and so much to choose from You decide..
I find the mistake some people make with the soundtrack to the podcast version of the NHS C25K programme or the C25K+ podcasts is to think of it as 'music' as in something you would necessarily choose to listen to for aesthetic reasons.
It's more of a tool for the job in hand (doing different jobs for C25K and C25K+) and not some terrible indictment of your cool-ness as a person!
I find the podcasts really useful, especially 'speed' the interval training session. I tend to plod along, which is fine, but I would really like to increase my pace a bit otherwise the longer runs take ages!
I might have another listen to them although I like to listen to my own music truth be told ! Happy Easter! π π
