I use an iPhone four s, and I really like the encouragement but really want to listen to my own music. Every time I try it the podcast just pauses. Any ideas?? Xx

I use an iPhone 5 and use the c25k app (it's the change for life one - NHS choices) and I can play my own music, it just adjusts the volume when Laura talks. Hope this helps :)

I have a 4S and I use the c25k app so that I can have Laura and listen to my own music. Been helpful esp as the runs get longer.

Hello. The app links automatically to your playlist, not the entire music library on your phone. It doesn't work if you operate the music app on the phone separately. The easiest way to set it up is to create a playlist in iTunes on your computer, copy some of your existing music into it and sync your phone with iTunes. Then, the next time you start the C25K app, just touch the musical note symbol at the bottom of the phone screen and the music in the playlist will start by itself. Laura's voice will come in over the top of the music at the appropriate points in the run. Hope this helps.

I have 4s and use the app and my own music. I don't use the wee music icon at the bottom of the app as this seemed to chose randomly from all my music. I just hit the home button (Round thumb button - as I thought it was called until I checked with other half) then go to music and choose a playlist then go back to the app (to see the time remaining).

Yeah this is how I do it too :)

If you go into the C25K app settings and switch off the shuffle option, it will play through the tracks in your playlist in the correct order.

I took the view that getting to listen to my own choice of music would be my reward for completing C25K. There were some tracks that really kept me going - not because I liked them but because I was blowed if I was going to have to listen to them more than the required 3 times. I also felt that if I was going to baulk at a bit of suboptimnal music I wasn't going to have the determination to get out there and run when some small thing wasn't quite right. (of course one could argue that, techno hassles aside, it is an easy small thing to fix) It was also nice to have that shared experience with other C25Kers.
