Hi all,
I'm late posting, but hey... .life...
One of my 2017 goals was to get a sub 30 5k at Parkrun before my birthday in May.
Last Saturday I did 29:24! A Whooping 70 seconds quicker than my previous PB. I was absolutely buzzing (and still am).
I went on to have my quickest training run ever on Monday and on Tuesday I smashed another 2017 goal...
I've been silently working toward increasing my distance from 5k to 10k.
On Tuesday this week - I DID IT
The best thing is I didn't even go out with 10k in mind.
Tuesday is my "hills day". There is a local, fairly steep, hill that is just over 500m long from top to bottom. I normally run up and down five times (5k) followed by a little 500/1000m cool down lap on the flat. But this Tuesday, after x5 hills, "I thought why not one more", then "why not just one more" again! After x7 hills I thought I may as well do a little lap of the sea front and get that 10k! So I did
Very please with myself.
Got a lovely mention in the run report... (I'm Kris BTW) parkrun.org.uk/harwich/news...
Did I see there is a 10k graduate badge?
