well when I started I did my first 5K in 47 minutes, chipped away at my times for weeks and months finally got down to 31:40 and sort of gave up trying to beat it thinking I'd reached my limit, anyhow mixed my runs up, doing 5s 7s 10s etc and didn't worry about times too much and tried to enjoy just running, anyway went out to do 5K this morning and did it in 29:46 and am ecstatic, so a message to those who graduate that 30 minutes is hard it's taken me months 9 to be exact, so don't dwell on it, enjoy your runs first and the speed will come and your still beating everyone sat on the couch x
Sub 30 minute 5K: well when I started I did my... - Couch to 5K
Sub 30 minute 5K
That's brilliant, you must be very chuffed! *envious sigh*
Fantastic well done! I bet you'll be smiling all day. X
Great stuff... hope for me yet as I've just got below 40mins
well done Andy
Well done a great achievement. Like you I am aiming for 5k in 30 mins. I'm chipping away at it and hope to get there by the end of June.
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!
Well done Chris! You must be very, very happy right now.
That's great Chris, it gives me hope. My first 5km was 42 minutes and I've chipped away at it. It's now 36.46 and I'm hoping to drop it further
One day I'll run under 30 mins, one day!
well done Chris that is a really good time
That's really inspiring. Also chipping away like many others. Injured at the mo but itching to get back to trying. Nice one.
I've yet to graduate but I am very slow - and no doubt will get slower lol! A very inspiring post - it proves it can be done with perseverance. A big pat on the back to you!
Well done Chris. It's great to get that sub 30 isnt it
You are absolutely right, just enjoy your runs, and the speed will look after itself. The more you run, the better you get. Over time you also get used to the fact that some of your runs will be slower than usual, for no obvious reason. The important thing is to just get out there, and enjoy it.
Wow that's fantastic!!! You have just given me hope!!! I am slowly chipping away my times and didn't think I would ever get down to 30 mins. Maybe I will. I will keep chipping!!!! Still a way to go!!!! But thanks for posting!!!! Very inspiring!!!
That's brilliant Chris. Many congratulations. It's a big milestone in a runner's life and you've just cracked it!
thats really inspiring. I want to decrease my 5k times so hopefully this approach will help
Great post
Well done Chris ! Fantastic post, and a lesson learnt that we should never think " We Cant Do It "
You have proved WE CAN ! xxx
I missed this but well done!
Considering you only posted the day before, on my graduation post about chasing down the sub 30 that's amazing, go you!
Weren't going to be beaten by a newbie were ya? Lol
