Today I went on a shopping trip and got myself some shiny new shoes. I went to a running shop called Run 4 It, who were fantastic. I had gait analysis on a treadmill first, my first time running on one, which was a bit weird. They diagnosed a bit of over pronation, and some instability in my ankles. I am delighted with my new shoes - some Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17. They weren't cheap, but I know that they are the right shoe for me.
Tonight I joined a running group for the first time. I found a beginners group on meetup.com and really enjoyed tonight's run. I was pleased when one of the regular runners described the pace tonight as fast, as I had felt very comfortable - my new shoes felt amazing! I'm looking forward to joining them again, and recommend anyone to have a look for a similar group in their area.

I was a bit nervous beforehand, and worried about not being able to keep up, but I need not have. I usually run on my own, so it was nice to have company for encouragement
