Over the weekend I came across a revelation from a 'life hack' article I saw. I have been wearing my earphones wrong, which has been a bit of an issue with them being uncomfortable and having issues getting them in the correct position all this time. Apparently they should go over the ear. I tried this today and hurrah problems solved, thought I'd share this little gem incase anyone else is having the same issue.
Todays run went very well, after dosing up on Lemsip and cough mixture (thankfully the cold hasn't hit the chest so I was good to go). I took a slightly different route, expanding my distance with the thought of the longer run periods coming up. The legs felt fine and surprisingly the nose behaved too.
However I misjudged the time I went out and the point I normally turn back to run alongside the golf course it was heaving with kids taking the shortcut to secondary school. I'll be honest I didn't fancy running in amongst them all just incase there were any wise cracks sent my way (sorry that must sound bad). Instead I continued on to explore a little. I hadn't realised there was such a long hill just after that point, slowing down definitely helped and somehow I managed to get to the top before having the last minute going down the other side. Before I knew it todays run was finished. I was further from home than normal so I had a longer cool down, whilst listening to the random tunes on my phone. Then Laura popped up again to welcome me to week 1 of the couch to 5K lol, yep I haven't deleted the podcasts 'just in case'. Listening to the start of W1 I remembered how I felt on that first run and realised how far I've come. Bring on R3

Ahh, I always used to have problems with my ear phones falling out at the gym (don't wear them outside)! In fact I got so fed up that I got some 'over the ear' type (ear piece fits around ear). Sounds a good run, brilliant.
