After worrying about it all day yesterday and having an almost sleepless night I've actually managed to complete week 5 of the plan! If you'd have told me at the start of week one I'd be able to do this I simply wouldn't have believed you.
20 minutes! Woop!
I have to say it took me the first five to find my stride, the second five to almost settle in, the third five flew by and the fourth five to start feeling "I'm actually gonna finish this!".
Thanks for all the advice guys!
See you for week 6!

Me too! Im pooped though, my first 5 is uphill but ok, second 5 is downhill so ok again, 3rd 5 starts with another uphill and thats when my gremlins started to kick in, telling me ive only ran 8 before, now ive done 10 its time for a break but Im stubborn so I ignored them and powered through and finished the 20. Its a good feeling
Well done - you've done really well as this run is a very real challenge and many of us need a few weeks prep to get through it.
Well done ! It's a great feeling. Bet you've got a big cheesy grin on. Be warned it can last all day ! May frighten some people !
Your right about the first few minutes. Think this can happen to any of us. Despite now doing 6K regularly I suppose you can forgive your body for resisting at first having to get used to being off a couch one day then suddenly running. That can be the hardest critical part.
Then it starts to get used to the idea of running. and as others say as you build up your stamina it does get easier.
Thank you! My grin has been fixed in pace for most of the day now I'm starting to feel improvements in my general fitness so hopefully the stamina is building!
Oh its a marvellous feeling getting that one under your belt . You feel like you've won the Grand National, Champions League, FA Cup, Boat Race and Countdown after that one .
I had sleepless nights over this one too, I knew it was looming in the distance , like a scary dental appointment, and I was dreading it . No wonder I blubbed like a baby once I had done it
Really Well done Russ, you should be very proud of yourself after that one . Onwards ! xxx
