I'm on cloud 9 right now. I can't believe I just jogged/moved/cried/swore my way through the killer 20 minute run.
To be honest with you it all seems a blur now but one thing for sure is that I done it.
Yes I swore a bit. Ok actually alot. My legs went through all types of feelings, including being heavy, light, tight, feeling like they couldn't bend anymore and then I kind of blocked them out of my head. I was lapped a good few times but this guy who obviously has been running for a long time but I don't care. I did it.
And to add the cherry on top, I actually succeeded in a personal goal, which was to actually run a full lap of this playing field. In fact the 20 mins enabled me to run 1 and 3/4 of this field. So I'm happy right now.
The first 10 minutes seem to go on forever but time stands still for no one as my mum would say.
Who would believe that on September 14th when I started this programme that I could actually get this far.
Wonderful achievement Donna for you to complete that 20 minutes. I was looking at the times of a recent 5K race taking place somewhere in England, the winner was a 16-year-old junior who won it in a respectable time of just over 17 minutes, however, I looked at the times of the runners at the back of the pack, my goodness me the last person to complete the race was another 16-year-old junior, guess what his time was?, remember this is a 5K race....his time was 1 HOUR 37 minutes. wow.
Well done - I remember the great feeling of competing the 20 mins. After you've achieved that, you can definitely finish the whole c25K programme.
Really well done!! I know just what you mean about all the different feelings during the run but doesn't it feel great when you've finished. As has been said W6 runs are not always as easy as you might be expecting but you know now that you can get through them.
