Week 6 Completed!

So, no more stopping and walking.... and as I was informed by the app I can now call myself a runner. Leg aches overcome, thanks for the compression sock advice I received from this forum, time to step it up and smash the 5k barrier!

Well done. Don't be in too big a hurry! Just stay slow and steady and you'll be fine, as will your legs. Don't worry about the 5k and whether you reach it within the 9 weeks. Not many do but it doesn't matter. Finishing the sessions is everything

Have fun!

Whoaaa...compression socks or not.. as misswobble says.. steady as you go ! Stamina and steady progress is the way.. speed and distance.. they are waiting on the other side:)

Well done. Think like others have said it's "doing the time" that counts and builds the stamina. not everyone is the same but sometimes the running can come on in leaps and bounds. I do 40 minutes now and just over 6K. My pace is about the same throughout.

I have found that when I have occasionally stepped down to 5K my speed has increased a bit by bit. But it was building up the stamina in running time first that helped.

But it's good to be ambitious . But as others say "Steady as you go ambitious".

Good luck.

Thanks all, I was meaning I'm looking forward to the last third of the course! I'm thinking of spreading the runs to once every three days, as the runs increase I think my aged lags need additional recovery time, what do we think?
