Week 9, run 2!

Done it! Graduation run booked for Parkrun on Saturday! I still can't run the whole way but I CAN run for 30 minutes :) :) :)

I have noticed that the times we get given at Parkrun aren't always accurate so in preparation for doing better I have treated myself to a Garmin Forerunner 10 to really motivate myself.

Good luck to all my almost-graduate virtual pals heading for the finishing line!

Well done slow worm. How you finding the park runs? I've registered, but want to increase my running times a bit before I do it.

enjoy your graduation run.

Hi, Giddykipper . I did my first Parkrun before I began c25k and walked almost all of it. I have gradually built up the proportion of running but I am still very slow and one of the last to finish. Funny thing is, although I am running more my time is not improving. Anyway, I start off in the middle of the hoards (over 700 last week!) and end up doing a solo, which I have absolutely no objections to! Everyone is very friendly, there are a couple of guys who always wait for me at the end to cheer me on and comment on my improved stamina etc. Give it a go! X

Thank for that slowworm. 700 people, that sounds rather alarming😱 I've just joined RFC fall quest. Going to try and increase my distance a bit first. I'm very slow too. Although my last run I think was too quick. My Fitbit said I was in peak heart rate for 30 mins! and my speed had definitely increased. Was to fast to keep up though. Next time will go much slower but further I hope.

Sounds like you are improving all the time with your park run. Most of time I think I can almost walk as fast as I run. X
