Last night I decided I needed to focus on a challenge with my running. So today I have registered for a 10k run eeeeekkkkkk!!!!
It is not until early March 2017, so plenty of time to make the distance. I decided it would be a good 60th birthday present to myself. I rather like the thought of a bit of bling too!
When I mentioned it to my OH I thought he would suggest I get real, but instead he said defo go for it! So I have...........not sure if it's a good move or not but its in the diary ๐๐๐๐ป

I've also entered a 10k but mines not till next May. (I'll be 59 by then ) I don't for one minute expect to run the whole distance but i will sonny best to complete it if it's the last thing I do.
Great idea. You have plenty of time to train and it will keep you focused over the winter. And great as a gift! For the past couple of years I've run an 8 mile race that's usually the weekend after my birthday. It's become a ritual, kind of my way of celebrating another year older.
Hello, Thank you for the pointer, I have looked and considered dipping my toe but not yet been brave enough to post as I'm a very new graduate! I definitely will soon I'm sure so that I can pick everyone's brains when needed๐๐ผ.
Yeah! Go you! It's a great goal and you have plenty of time not to rush it and to enjoy it. You should check out the Bridge to 10K forum as there are others doing the same thing and it's just as friendly and supportive as this one!
OHs just don't know when we want support *not* to do something, do they?! I told my OH in Feb last year that a friend had suggested a 10K in June that year, and i'd said 'ooh no I don't think I could do that!' Instead of backing me up, he said 'you should tell her you'll do it!' Ah. Right, then.
The worst of it is, he was right, we did it, and it was great fun!
