Wk5 Run3 - nailed it !! Had to frequently check my pace back a bit as was getting carried away and finding my breathing getting out of control, but it's done. Thank you to all of you who had faith & gave encouragement earlier in the week .. 5 weeks down, 4 to go !! PS one of the hardest bits was dodging slippery slugs & snails that came out in the rain !!
Go me, go me, go me !! :) Smug mode engaged .. - Couch to 5K
Go me, go me, go me !! :) Smug mode engaged ..
Well done Rob ! Yep , that's a proper milestone in the programme , a toughie but as you have proved, perfectably do-able !
Bet youre glad that's done and dusted, now Onwards to Week 6 ! xxx
Shame to see we revert to shorter runs .. there is obviously a good reason, but ..
Yes Week 6 is back to run/walk intervals , which can be a bit tricky after the euphoria of running 20 minutes non stop, so just take it slow and steady and you will be fine
Go you indeed!!! That's the biggie Rob and you nailed it. No wonder you're smiling
Yeaaaaaa, way to go RobD. Another one under the belt! It was waiting there resdy for you to take it, well done ! Enjoy week 6 😀
Shame to see we drop to shorter runs again though ..
Try not to think of it as dropping back Rob.. its stamina building and actually a good run up to the end of week 6.
Enjoy your last few walk breaks..soon its non stop running. This is simply to consolidate your 20 mins ready for the biggys...
You could work on your technique a bit. Pace yourself, shoulders down, chest open and enjoy the running. Good luck. Trust the plan, it works.😊
Yay...well done Rob..we knew you could do it..😊
Lovely picture of you tiptoeing around the slugs and snails now in my head. 😁
Week 6 next. Still go easy at the start of your run..you can use up any extra you have left at the end in the last minute.
Go you.....
Good luck next time out.
Excellent, huge well done, and yes slugs and snails are a bit scary, it's when you get that crunch... Urgggg. 😎
Well done! 😊 it's tough when your breathing goes ragged but slow down!
The programme has been cleverly designed so there is purpose to the structure. It's not just a blip by the inventor ☺ You will find as your running develops the merits of run walk run. Oh yes! ☺
Good luck with your next run. Stay slow and you'll be fine
Yes. I have progressed so far the snails can't run away from me now like they used to. Still can't catch up with the speeding tortoises though!
Seriously, well done on your 20 minutes. Reverting to run walk in week 6 does feel a bit weird but it does work. And you have the pleasure of Julie to look forward to.
We did W5D3 on Friday (struggled with the breathing at the start of it too) and were surprised to see W6D1 is intervals again, but interval training helps to build stamina which we will definitely need for W6R3. Hope you have a good running week!
