downloaded the couch to 5k app from itunes and went out on my first days exercise week 1 plan. The app was amazing tells you when to walk and run. My bmi is 33.3 so in the obese bracket need to shed 5 stone to get in the middle of the healthy bracket. Feeling really motivated after the 1st exercise. Back of my hamstring felt bit tight tho and i was drenched in sweat but i managed it and really enjoyed it with the talk through app and the music really got me going. Im 15 stone 3 at the minute so need to get down to 10 stone 3 to be in the healthy bracket. il update after a week or 2 to let everyone know my progress :)

Well done. Keep at it and believe in the programme. You can do it. I'd never run in my life and at 66 thought I never would but I have completed week7

Well done getting started. My daughter has just begun W1 as well, so we'll be with you through to graduation hopefully. You can post after every run if you like. A lot of people do as it has the advantage of making you stick to it. I've never regretted dkingvthis programme or joining this lovely forum. It would be hard to imagine life without running now. Best of luck to you.

Congratulations on getting started, that's the hard part. The programme is fab and this forum is amazing for advice and support. Best advice I've seen is if it seems hard slow down then slow down some more. You can't run too slowly, build up the stamina before you worry about speed. Happy running :-)

Snap! I was 15 stone at Christmas with a BMI of 33. It frightened me so much I decided to get fit. Started with my Wii and exercise DVDs, then started doing Zumba once then twice a week then got into C25k. I have an under active thyroid so take thyroxine 150ml and am peniscious anaemic so need B12 injections every three months. Good on you for starting on it. I got my 18 year old daughter involved and I'm now on week 4 whereas she's week 3. It doesn't matter when you start just take it easy at the beginning and do as much as your body allows you to

Well done! You've made a good start, just take it steady and find your own pace. I can hardly believe how far I have come in the few weeks I have been doing the programme, it really does work, so keepvit up and you'll soon find you're making progress :).
