I am very lucky girl as all my family have clubbed together to send me and Mr Rfc on holiday for a week. My best mate is coming to look after the cats and we are off to the sunshine.
Normally when we go away I keep an eye on the forum and keep working but this time we have promised ourselves that we will keep our head out of our computers and totally have a break.
Everyday without fail for the last three years I have come On here so it's going to feel really weird but I know I'm leaving you in very capable hands. Ju-Ju and Poppypug for the week and I know they will do an excellent job and I thank them very much for helping me have a break.
Now I just have to decide whether to take my running stuff? I have packed it once then unpacked it again. Hopefully there will be walking and swimming, Just thinking about all the lovely Sicilian food and I start think there should be running as well!
Wishing you all a happy healthy week while I'm away. See you when I am back.
Rfc X.

Sicily!!!! Flippin eck! Your family must love you!
I picture you over there, basking in the sun, eating lovely ciabatta with figs and olives, drinking the local vino at 5p a gallon (eminently quaffable) whilst here will be like that scene from Father Ted when he let Dougal do the funeral.
Titter! Just you pack up and go we'll be fine ....... Can I smell burning?
Definitely pack your running gear. It is only thectrainers that take up room and your kit you can hand wash as you go. I hope you enjoy your well-deserved break. Sicily is fabulous. So much history. It is also home to my second favourite detective after Poirot - Montalbano, and he was always eating! Lucky you
Ah that's so lovely. Have a brilliant time and don't give us a moment's thought... but do pack your running stuff or you'll come back with bruises from kicking yourself.
Oh RFC his very lovely for you. What a kind family you have ❤️❤️ Think you're very wise to switch off all the technology for a week. JJ and Pops will do a great job keeping the home fires burning, so don't give us a second thought. As for packing the running stuff, well if you do take them you don't have to use them, but if you *don't* take them then you definitely can't use them!! Have a fabulous time, we want photos when you get back xx
A break for the two of you in Sicily sounds fabulous. Enjoy the break in the sunshine and taking your running gear won't do any harm even if you decide to not use it...but I bet you do!
We were in Toamina and it was Fantasic. I ran on the treadmill in the hotel but where we were staying it was on a hillside so unless I wanted to do hill training only, it would of been difficult. I did see runners out in the morning though. I have to say though the food is amazing, I haven't been anywhere before with such lovely food, the tomatoes are to die for, it's hard to believe that they are the same produce that we get here. I did make a call a couple of days when I just had ice cream for lunch as well. But boy was it worth it. We didn't travel around because MrRfc is unwell but when he gets better we are going to go back and see more of this wonderful place. Have a great time, let us know if you get to run.
Yes, I am looking forward to the food. We will be staying in Agrigento then Taormina. I have looked at both hotels on Google Maps but can't see any obvious routes. But we will have plenty to keep us busy. I will report back on my return
