Just finished run 1 of wk 3 and I must admit I was a bit worried before I started but I surprised myself and managed it . Also iv developed Pain in my right shin which isn't too bad when I'm running but seems worse when I do the walking part. I think iv got a strange right foot as it seems to slap down when I am walking .I do stretches before I start and when I finish . Any advice welcome πŸ˜€

Congratulations on finishing the first week!!

Sorry I have really got any advice for you on the pain in your shin, the first few weeks you will get aches and pains anyway. Maybe invest in some good running shoes.

Thanks I was thinking I might go to sweat shop for gait analysis. Then get new ones.

I had heal pain from the start which I just put up with. As soon as I had a gait analysis done and some decent running shoes the problem was resolved.

As I said though, you will get some aches and pain, for awhile as your body gets use to exercise. But highly recommended some good running shoes. It's a good investment if you stick to this anyway :)

Good luck for week two.

Your foot slap happens when you're tired. Slow right down. You will benefit from gait analysis as you will find out your foot type and if there are any problems

I had foot slap but it's got much better now I am stronger. It takes a while to build running legs and slow runs will help with that, which is why we always bang on about going really steadily. We all want to remain injury free

You will get new runners niggles. It's to be expected if you are unaccustomed to exercise. You know your body is feeling it and responding. The rest days are important so take them to help with recovery from the sessions. As you get fitter the niggles will disappear. If they become more than a niggle you have to rest

Enjoy the sessions. C25k is fun!

Thanks . Yes I'm going to get gait analysis done at weekend. The running shoes I bought I didn't really think about it when I got them. Its only one leg that's having bother so hopefully new trainers to suit my feet will help with that .I always have my rest days .thanks for the advice
