Well, I did it as I said I would & I am so chuffed. I woke up and the weather app on my phone warned me that it was about to drizzle; immediately the little devil on my shoulder whispered "It's going to rain so you may as well hang up your trainers and do it tomorrow". I did consider it for a millisecond but then thought back to when I first did C25K when I went running in sub zero temperatures and in frost and wondered when I became such a wimp that I would let a bit of drizzle stop me. Anyway, the weather app was incorrect and it stayed dry and so I put on my kit, laced up my running shoes and headed for the door.
I set off with the dulcet tones of Michael Johnson in my ears telling me how I could do this. A nice brisk 5 minute walk followed by a 90 second slow run. It took a while to get a good pace as my feet seemed to have forgotten how to run but then it all kicked it and the run was over and back to walking. The three minute run was wonderful, it felt great to be back out in the air and looking at the scenery; nothing to think about but putting one foot in front of the other. Then the halfway bell went so I turned around and headed home. I'd forgotten the route is uphill on the return part so it was a bit more challenging but I was absolutely made up when Michael announced the end of the 1st run. I had completed the first run of week 3, no walking or stopping during the runs and my SI joint did not whinge so all good. Looking forward to Thursday for my next run
Have a good day all xx
