I am aiming to finish my C25K journey August Bank Holiday weekend so I felt I needed a little more motivation past that....
So I have signed up for the British Heart Foundation September Marathon - run or walked during the month of September...not in one go but over four weeks
My gorgeous nephew (one of 5) sponsored me first and I am doing it as my wonderful Mum in law died this year of vascular dementia bought about by a succession of strokes and if I can help other escape this dreadful demise I will......
Think it will really help me past the C25K graduation stage where, knowing me, I might rest easy and think done that.....next project?....instead of keeping with it....wish me luck...haha....got to get to graduation first

Getting up to 6.5 miles between graduation and your first run does sound mighty ambitious. Run/ walk sounds like the route for you. Research the Galloway method. Good luck.
Think I've worked it out so I do 3 x 3km runs each week equaling ( 36k) - I am currently on W7 and doing 3k in 36 mins of the programme - so the additional 6 km I need I'll do by walks in between days - If I manage to run every other day then I will do the 42k without walking.....I'm exhausted just thinking about it!!
I love the idea of doing the marathon over 4 weeks. As to whether you're mad or not I don't know... given that you can walk or run I would imagine that it's eminently do-able - it's just under 7 miles a week. Have fun x
Sounds great challenge. I looked at that too but didn't want to over commit myself as its going to be a busy time for me then . I think you have the whole month to run that ir in- good luck! I
Hi Kate, what a great plan (much more ambitious than the 3k I've signed up for!) I wish you lots of luck for September. Vascular dementia is a horrible disease - my 90yr old Nanna suffers with it, so I know how hard it is on family members x
Probably! Ha Ha! Like most of us!๐ I understood what you said, over 4 weeks, shouldn't be a problem, what a great commitment for a good cause Kate, I wish you all the best!๐
