I must be mad !!!!!

Well... thats it. Ive done the most daunting thing ever and agreed to sign up to C25K with a local running club. It runs for 10 weeks (if I even get past registration it will be a miracle)!

Ive lost 6 stone (still overweight though), and am 47 years of age - I must be totally bonkers 😣

Yeahhhhhhh! Well done, a truely great decision.

Keep the momentum, get yourself registered asap.

Read plenty of posts on here to help keep you motivated, and make sure you tell us how things are going. We will support, celebrate, cheer you on.

Enjoy😀

Well if you are bonkers, welcome to the club. There are loads of us here.

Keep us posted as to how your registration goes, and any subsequent runs you do.

Any advice you need just ask here.

You may not enjoy the c25k at the time, but over halfway through you probably will.

Welcome to the new you.

You'll be fine! Signing up and starting is the hardest bit and you'll get wonderful support both on this forum and in your running club. You'll make new friends and be running for 30 minutes in no time. Have fun! There are lots of us here who would describe ourselves as bonkers, so you're in good company ;) .

Fabulous!

I followed the C25K program about five years ago. I am now a confirmed plodder ( can't really call myself a runner. I can go 10k but have yet to manage 5k in 30 minutes 😕 )

There will be times when you want to swear and by all means do ( even inwardly) but the benefits are great.

Good luck.

It seems perfectly rational to me. What better way to lose weight and get fit. Nothing mad about it at all. In fact you'd be crazy not to 🙂

Sounds extremely sensible to me ! Well done on your weight loss and I'm sure you'll enjoy the running journey.

Hi. I'm planning on starting on the c25k tomorrow....not very positive....I mean I am starting tomorrow lol How are you getting on? :)

Well I did day one ! We ran for 30 seconds and then walked for 2 minutes for a total of 30 minutes. My legs were heavy towards the end and on the 9th, 10th run we were praying for the whistle to blow to end it !!!!

Once I actually had my breath back and was cooling down with stretches I felt good and seemed to forget about being uncomfortable whilst running (or trying). Same again tomorrow but dreading next week when they increase it to a minute run at a time !!!

Doing it with a running club I thought they would give us pointers on how to run, hold your arms and most importantly breathing but they don't. Here's hoping I can continue with it :-)
