I knew were upping the running this week but I was shocked at my body's reaction. I set of for the lovely brisk 5 min walk, Laura says we're going to start with a three minute run, that's ok we did that last week.

My goodness what a shock that was, the ticker was ticking overtime and I was huffing and puffing like a steam train, BUT I didn't stop, just slowed down a tad. I was so relieved when Laura said slow down and walk. I was dreading the next run, 5 MINUTES!! But it was so much easier than the 3, I got in a rhythm and was gone.

I find I'm guessing where I'm going to get to before Laura says slow down, now I'm getting further than I'm guessing!!

Hubby is still riding shotgun the slowest imaginable. He never says a word about the running until we get home, then he's full of compliments, which gives me just as good a high has finishing and Laura saying well done. He even noticed that I gave it a bit extra running up the hill from under the bridge!!

Just done week 4 run 2 tonight much easier than the first and..... I'm going further.

Very inspiring - thanks. I'm onto W4 in a few days and this really helps as I'm a bit apprehensive :-0

No need. Try not to worry.

Simply, try to focus on how far you have come...not how far you have to go... follow the programme and take it, as ever, slow and steady... you will do it! :)

I agree. I see people running, checking their watches (especially if they are held up by traffic when crossing a road) and think no, not for me. I would rather wait for Laura's instructions.

we have a very good exercise bike which I have used in spells over the last 15 or so years but it is too boring, I would rather walk in the rain or now of course run. I used to cover the clock/timer/speedo because I would be watching it to make myself stay on to do enough, counting down until I could get off and do something more interesting.

Just getting into the habit of a regular run three times a week is good enough for me. I even wake up and think "oh good, it is a running day" now. Never imagined that could happen to me.

Oh dear... another one hooked... and isn't it BRILLIANT?

Well done you.. and your husband for the support..my husband encouraged me all through the programme, and still does... " Oh it is just a drop of rain...get out there!" !!!!

You have got the idea though..if in doubt, pull back and slow it down... it does not matter how slow you go:)

You are going all the way...looking forward to your next post!!!
