Geez you're not kidding... That was a hard slog. I still can't fathom out why, but despite trying not to think too hard about everyone's concerns on here so I didn't make it unnecessarily hard, all 3 of tonight's runs were a struggle. The breathing was hard, my left shin is sore and time wise it was slower than the 20 min run on Friday. Weird! Anyway, it's done and dusted, let's see what Tuesday brings! π
W6r1: Geez you're not kidding... That was a hard... - Couch to 5K
W6r1
Well done Feelingsilly, you did it that's the main thing x
Onwards and upwards x
P.s Got this one on Tuesday!!!
Tricky one done & dusted. You'll nail the next one
Hope so π¬
W6 R1 was my big banana skin (after w1 r1 Inevitably).
I can't explain what it was. but I didn't like it at all- I suspect, like you say, its the peculiar intervals interfering with your new-found momentum.
Have no fear, each and every run is a lot more rewarding after this one.
It starts to become a mental challenge now, instead of a physical one.
Enjoy your well earned rest day, then go for it.
I think you've hit the nail right on the head there 90ldfinch , Week 6 is definitely a mental challenge .
Oooh Laura going all psychological on us , testing our mental strength ! The Minx ! xxx
It sounds like you were determined and you have done it. Seems like the programme keeps challenging to dig deeper, but you did and well done βΊοΈ
It really does Hidden . You might not have been able to write inspiring words this morning (are you still buzzing?) but you have now... Thanks!
Haha, come down to earth now nothing like a bit of weeding for that. I followed RICE for my knee twinge- my take was laying on the sunlounger resting and occasionally placing the ice cold beer bottle against my leg, seemed to help! π
As a nurse, that sounds like a perfect summer version of RICE to me π Hope it's better quickly
Well done on Wk6R1 ! Whoever thought it would be 'easier' to run 20 mins than the interval runs ?! Guess it does have some logic and congrats for nailing it!
Thanks Biscuit0107 , not sure nailing came in to this one but I was glad to be done with it. If it had been any other run I would have repeated it to make sure it felt better than it did, but with everyone's reports of what w6r1 seems to be like I think I might just write than one off and move on. How's your husband's trainer hunting/injury?
Not good news, unfortunately. He went to the docs today as he hadn't told me that he was also getting chest pains on the run. They think it might be angina, they've given him beta blockers and a spray (?) as a precaution and he'll have an ECG soon (possibly a couple of weeks) The doc said he can continue to run but not to push himself - I'm not sure he should until we know what it is. We went for a walk tonight - Not sure when I'll run again but I want to make sure I continue even if he can't for the moment. Sorry for the long post, it's good to share this news outside my friends and family. x
Aww Biscuit0107 , don't apologise, that's sure a lot of information to take in. Beta blockers and spray sound sensible, I think staying away from runs may be sensible too but brisk walks with his spray in his pocket should be ok. Poor you and him...Runs for you may be good time to clear your head. Feel free to message π
Well done. Week 6 is, indeed, a bit of a conundrum.
It is a tricky blighter, like everyone says!!! But.. you are on the way now!!!
This is a common experience. Never mind, you completed and can tick that one off now.
