I didn't plan on running today but plans changed and I thought why not do it AND I don't believe it,I have actually run in the space of 30 mins for a total of 16 mins. The first 3 mins were soooooo hard and with only 90 secs walking recovery I started to doubt that I would beable to run for the next 5 mins but I slowed my pace a bit and gritted my teeth and just went for it.I was so elated at having done it adrenaline spurred me on to complete the run.I was so pleased with myself I must have looked pretty idiotic walking with a huge grin singing to myself. When I got to our driveway my hubby was waiting for me and when he asked me how I'd done I just burst into tears ( silly old soul!) Yes my knees were aching but I soon recovered after a good drink of water and a banana.
So, what have learnt so far works well for me? Well, a few gentle stretchers and plenty of water pre and post run, a fruit snack when I get home followed by an half hour rest before a nice hot shower. So! to anyone out there who is thinking of doing c25k just have a go and to those who have started and are now doubting themselves keep going YOU ABSOLUTELY CAN DO JUST BELIEVE. Good luck to you all, my thoughts are with you. Lol C
Every week I say " I'm not ready for the next week" I'm on holiday right now ( in the isle of skye) I went out for a run I repeated week 5 day 3 ( two 8 min runs ) on finishing the last 8 min run I decided to run through my cool down ( it was a repeated day , I don't skip or over do a new run session )
So that meant I managed to run for 13 consecutive minutes , I didn't plan on it!
I always says running for ten minutes non stop would be a real milestone !
I'm going to rest tomorrow ( even though I want to run 👍) then head into week 6 day 1 on Wednesday .
Keep going everyone , remember how enviouse we used to be of seeing people who could run?
