Hello again, I've just completed W3R3, was raining this time so stuck to the streets. Managed to increase my average speed from r1&2 from 9.4 to 9.9Kph and 2.48K.
My mood was really low all day but I managed to get going in the end, It was a strange run for me as I didn't really feel that great even when doing it but at least it stopped me thinking and I'm happy I increased my speed a bit.
I've got bad cuts on my arms so wear long sleeves and tend to stick out like a sore thumb when running, I wear bright stuff! Anyway there was only one heckler this time who wound down his car window but I couldn't hear whatever they shouted as I had my music on. In fact they may have been cheering me on! It was during a walking bit and they were at traffic lights so we both just kind of stared at each other, they were grinning and i was bemused as they drove off and I narrowly avoided walking into a lamppost..
Other than that it was pretty uneventful, apart from being wet. I weighed myself this morning and was at 104kg down about 1KG over less than a week. I stopped drinking since I got out of hospital 3 weeks ago this Wednesday after doing something stupid because I have depression. It's been good to go running when otherwise I would have stayed in.
Anyway thank you to everyone who encouraged me on the forum and I will try and keep posting updates. Hope everyone is OK and enjoying running!

well done for making it out the door when you have been feeling low, that's a big step to have taken, hope you feel good about having done the run even if you didn't love it while it was happening! keep up the good work and keep posting 😊 and I wouldn't focus too much on speed, just getting through the runs is enough!
If you have achieved 3 weeks of the programme already despite having depression and being in hospital, you are doing brilliantly! Congratulations on everything you have achieved so far, and good luck for the coming weeks.
Good job! It's hard to try and motivate yourself when it isn't coming naturally, it's SO easy to make excuses. It sounds like you're doing great, you should feel super proud of yourself! Congrats on sticking out like a sore thumb, bright running gear is one of the best perks of this programme, right?!
Haha boptillyoudrop49 is spot on, you're a third of the way through, but even better you're half way to the non stop running section that starts in week 7. We've all been there and it's great to think that in another 3 weeks you'll be starting the longer runs without stopping. How did that happen? Great time as well by the way.
Mahoosive congratulations on your achievements so far... You're onto a winner. Not only will your body benefit from the physical exercise, but your depression will also be tackled, to some degree. It's a huge step to summon the motivation to even get started, so here's a big high-five ✋
Well done - it's hard sometimes to drag yourself out that door but you always feel great for having done so - always gives me glow for the rest of the day! I'm sure those people were encouraging you - some heckles are really positive!
Well done on the weight loss - keep going!
Congrats on dragging yourself out for a run and especially well done for avoiding the lamppost !!
Thankyou everyone! Ive just done W4R1 and its realy helped getting so many messages of support. Be warned there is a picture of me in my running stuff so its best to read just before or after a visit to the vomitarium.
I feel like I want everything to happen quick but i know its not like that, Im going to have a rest day or two now before run 2 as my joints are getting a bit sore. I really do appreciate everyone's comments. I don't usually post online but I've realised there's nothing really to loose from how I was a few weeks ago and everyone has been great so thankyou!
