......I'm sure thats down to the endorphins or else I've truly lost the plot!

Decided not to run yesterday as I was so tired and couldn't face another pre 5.30am start! So today was run2 of week 9 and lying in bed earlier I really didn't want to get up and get out there but managed to talk myself round.

Well the first 5 minutes seemed longer than usual but then I found my stride and I have to say I really enjoyed the rest of the run. Had a few casual waves with other runners as we went past each other on the other side of the road...friendly bunch...and then my nightmare looked ahead and saw massive group (about 6 but looked big to me!!) of what looked like elite runners heading straight at me...YIKES! They were friendly too and raised the hand to say hi...i think I managed a grimmace instead of a smile!!!

At half way I'd managed 2km so was on plan to achieve 4km of running by the end of 30mins....and I DID IT. When Laura said you've got 60 seconds left I knew I could do it and got faster and had the biggest smile on my face (it's still there)...4.11km in total 5km doesn't feel unachieveable now.. Get me the last 1km was the fastest!!!! I really feel like a proper runner today (only taken 9 weeks). My goal is next weekends run to do 5km however long it takes....can't wait!!

Sorry to have rambled so much today but am feeling so good I wanted to share it with all you lovely peeps. Right that's me off for a shower followed by a bacon buttie! :) :) :) :)

Good going, AliB1. Sounds like that 5K is in reach. I'm off out with a wk2er and hopefully a wk1er in half an hour. I'm going to try out the new C25K plus podcast in the pouring rain.

Let us know what it's like. I've just seen I had a message from Laura...bit late for me to try as not back out till mondya / tuesday. Impressed with the dedication blueboots...out in the rain

Lucky me, the rain had stopped so it was just a bit muddy underfoot in places. It was a good run but not so sure about the music but I can see how it might get me covering more ground and maybe even achieving the elusive 5K

glad it stopped raining for you. I've down loaded it and had a quick listen...so it's all about tempo and increasing your pace in time to the music. how long was the run for? maybe will try it after i complete r3

It was 30minutes. I walked for 5 then switched it on and ran for 30minutes then just walked for 5 afterwards. I did manage to do 4K running which is my best so far and I was able to keep to the beat on a couple of tracks.

That's great, you're an inspiration, I'm on week 6 next and very pleased that I did the 20 min run yesterday but still nervous about further runs so it's good to hear that you did really well :)
