On holiday, but still managed one run and got the ring I have been hoping for!

I had good intentions when I left home that I would be running every other day on the treadmill in the hotel, but when we got here I found a lovely run down by the bars and the sea. I have done this run once and my was it hot, I am in Lanzarote though so I should have expected it!! I managed about 2.5km but it felt really nice to be by the sea. I should have gone today but managed to sunburn the top of my legs yesterday so may just be a walk! I am trying to convince my now fiancee, got engaged as well the other evening ;) that he can come with me tomorrow morning so with a bit of encouragement I may just make it out there again. When I get back I really think I am going to feel the temperature change, so if you see someone running in a woolly hat and gloves that will be me!

Congratulations! Sounds like a lovely run by the sea but take it easy if you're sunburnt :)

Congratualtions FP!! The run sounds lovely, but not so much the sunburn :)

You will definately notice the change in temp when you get back, I hope you have got some thermals - the mornings have a definate 'brrr' about them :D

Congratulations FluffyPigeon and enjoy the rest of your holiday!

doggymum, we were just 'talking' about thermal undies etc on my slugs blog - what can you recommend?

I'm not really sure, I only started C25K in June!

Although I would think that it would be down to layering and how hot you get when running in general (I heat up very quickly even in a running vest!) hopefully 2 or 3 layers max would suffice.

I would also think it would be wise to make sure the base layer is still a wicking fabric so that you don't get a chill from a damp top against your skin.

I suppose I'll have to start looking out for warmer tops to wear at Parkrun soon though....

Good tip about the base layer, thanks. Think I'll have a look around at the weekend.

Congratulations! What a romantic place to get engaged and very best wishes to you both! Now an even bigger incentive to keep running to look trim in those wedding photos. You'll be looking at them forever so they might as well be good! I still love looking at our wedding album nearly 14 years on. :-)
